Wherever Maverick sports travel, a strong contingent of fans is usually right behind them to show their support.
So, when the men’s soccer Summit League tournament rolled around this year, a large number of Omaha fans showed up to support their team.
Overall, 540 miles separate the cities of Omaha and Denver. To drive that distance takes around eight hours.
For some, this might be an immense journey, but for fans of Omaha Maverick athletics, it’s just a fun little trip to support the team they love.
For the weekend, the UNO Office of Student Involvement sent a van-load of students up to Denver to support the Mavericks. This was an experience that many of the students thought was both rewarding and entertaining.
The Summit League Soccer Tournament will undoubtedly not be the end of the travels for Omaha athletics fans either.
The Mavericks Maniacs, Omaha’s official student section, will be back to Denver just a week after leaving it, as they will travel to support Omaha volleyball in their Summit League tournament.
The volleyball tournament will get underway on November 22 and run until November 24.
