LINCOLN, Neb. – On August 11, 2020, the Big 10 announced they were postponing their college football season to the spring, and that sent shockwaves through the entire college football landscape that had fans feeling all kinds of emotions.
“Very sad. With everything going on in 2020, football was the one thing we could look forward to together and kind of put everything aside,” Evan Graumann said.
On September 16, they reversed course and announced there would be a fall season. So, with the Big 10 conference starting their college football season off this past weekend, it was once again time to wake up early for College Gameday, and have some great breakfast food ready for the games.
“For me it’s the feeling in the morning of getting up and knowing there is football on tv,” he said.
The Big 10 is playing an eight-game conference schedule with a ninth crossover game against the same place team in the opposite division.
Just getting football back is a huge blessing for Big 10 fans everywhere but of course there are many storylines, and things to look forward to as the conference kicked off their new season this past weekend.
“This is going to be an up and down year, especially with the fact that you are going to have teams that most likely will have players that are sitting out from game-to-game and are going to have to sit out three weeks,” Tim Graumann said. “You just never know what you are going to get from week to week, so storylines are going to be hard to come by consistently throughout the year.”
The nine-game conference schedule for the Big 10 will have the conference championship on December 19, just one day before the College Football Playoff teams are announced, of which the conference is eligible.
