OMAHA – Teetering between dreamy pop driven melodies and stoic trap-influenced production, NowaNotNoah is one of Omaha’s next rising starts. Breaking rules and bending genres, NowaNotNoah came to fruition in 2016 with a dream and an iPhone. Born and raised in Omaha, Nowa embarks on his independent music journey producing, recording, mixing and mastering all of his own music by himself.
Earlier this year, NowaNotNoah hit 10,000 streams on his Soundcloud account, an achievement he thought he’d never reach. “It was crazy man; you just are doing you making music and people actually listen to it. It was surreal and I’m grateful for all of my fans,” Nowa said.
His unconventional form of recording off an iPhone gives Nowa his own unique brand and sound. His girlfriend, Nya, is his biggest support of his music. “I’ll always post about his music – when he releases new songs, I’ll post about it on my Instagram,” she said.
She said she blushes every time he writes about her in his lyrics. “It’s not everyday someone is writing songs about you. It makes me feel special and worthful,” Nya said.
The songwriter and producer hopes to perform live after the pandemic is over. For now, he goes live on Instagram to connect to his fans.
