At the start of each semester, the H&K building hosts a one-month program encouraging community members to make goals for themselves.
This semester’s event took place virtually. However, the event was still a source of encouragement for those who are trying to form better habits and change their lifestyles.
“You think about what happens every January in the new year. Everybody wants to think about trying something new and setting a new goal for the new year,” said Skyler Brooke, the campus recreation coordinator. “So it’s really something unique for the time of year.”
With the new year finally kicking off after all of the changes of 2020, Commit to Fit found some ways for everyone around the Omaha community to focus on their mental health and continue to stay healthy.
“We have all of our students equipped with how to make a goal and the things that go along with making goals,” Brooke said. “We hope they carry that forever, so you look across the city of Omaha with former students and alumni everywhere.”
The Commit to Fit program runs from Jan. 15 through Feb. 13.
