Brenden Bradfield, aka Parks Bradfield, is an indie artist in the metro who can’t wait for the next sound check. The pandemic has halted all live performances, making it difficult to maintain a presence in the music industry.
Brenden said he can’t wait to get back on the stage.
“I’ve been cooped up in my basement – I want to crowd surf and get sweaty while singing my heart out,” he said.
The local musician writes and produces all of his own music. He was a solo artist for a year before grouping up with some friends eventually forming a three-piece band.
“I was a lone ranger at first, but I couldn’t play every instrument myself,” he said.
Bradfield has toured around the metro playing at various bars and venues. Omaha has a vibrant underground music scene, but the virus has left everyone to watch virtual shows on platform like Instagram.
“I dig the whole virtual shows thing, but it’s not really my style – being on stage is exhilarating,” he said excitingly.
Blake David is CEO and founder of Spaceless Records and signed Parksfield last year. He said he’s eager to start scheduling shows for the artist.
“Venues across the country are shutting down for good, but with the vaccines maybe we’ll see some shows by the end of the year,” Blake said.
The two collaborate closely looking for any Omaha venues that will have them. As for March 2021, the CDC does not have recommendations for crowd sizes at outdoor concerts.
