By Madelyn Gau, OMAHA, Neb. – Papillion’s wellness and social scene just got a major boost with the opening of Cat Cow Yoga Studio and Events. This new studio is more than just a place for yoga—it’s a community space designed to bring people together through movement, mindfulness, and engaging social events.
Dakota Bockman, Creative Director of Cat Cow Yoga, says the studio is filling a much-needed gap in the area.
“We are opening Cat Cow Yoga and Events because it’s one of the only places like that in Papillion. There’s not a lot of yoga studios around this area. We also have the whole community of the Lux Apartments, so it’s going to be a nice asset to the apartment complex,” Bockman said.
An Inclusive Approach to Yoga
Unlike many traditional yoga studios, Cat Cow Yoga does not use mirrors in its practice rooms. The goal is to create a welcoming, intimidation-free space where everyone—regardless of experience level—feels comfortable.
“One of the first things that comes to mind is we don’t use mirrors in our yoga rooms. We want everyone to be comfortable, comfortable in your own skin, comfortable around others, and we don’t want to be too intimidating. We think that the fitness and health community can kind of sometimes overwhelm people, but we want everyone to be able to step in at all experience levels and just attempt yoga. Whether it’s your first time or hundredth time, we want everyone to come out and try it,” Bockman said.
This focus on accessibility and inclusivity makes Cat Cow Yoga stand out in the local fitness and wellness scene.

More Than Yoga: A Boutique Event Space
In addition to yoga classes, Cat Cow doubles as a small event venue, offering a space for community gatherings, private parties, and themed social events. The space is ideal for intimate celebrations.
“So it’s gonna be a bit of a variety. It’s a smaller event venue. So we’re looking at maybe having a maximum of 35 to 40 people between the two rooms and it’s gonna be all sorts of party events. A lot of them will be hosted by us, but we’re also going to be a space that people can rent out whether they’re doing a small bridal shower, birthday party, or baby shower,” Bockman said.
A New Community Hub
For Papillion residents, Cat Cow Yoga is shaping up to be more than just a fitness studio. Yoga enthusiast Brynn Haer highlights the studio’s dual purpose as both a wellness and social space.
“It’s just a great way for individuals to come in and really focus on their body and their minds,” Haer said. “And I also think that Cat Cow would be a great addition to the community just because they do events as well. And not many yoga studios are doing that. So even if you’re not interested in doing yoga, you could come in for their events that they have at night. And you’d still be able to meet different members of the community and bring your friends along, too.”
