For as long as anyone can remember, the environment of Omaha, Nebraska, as a whole has consistently been known through and throughout as a place where people support one another.
Having occurred for several years now throughout the metro area, Omaha Restaurant Week has since become an event that people far and wide come out to support. Whether it is a small Mother and father owned diner in the neighborhoods of Dundee or a slow growing fine dining chain in the suburbs of elkhorn.
Since its inception, the Foodbank of the Heartland, along with Visit Omaha have worked tireless alongside one another to help bring this event to the masses.
Among the numerous participants, Omaha restaurant week 2019 included Pitch West, Black Oak Grill, Petrow’s Café, Stoke’s Grill, and several others. Restaurants such as these are given a choice of three categories which to price their prix fixe menus at.
Among its goal to bring attention to the small, unknown restaurants of the Metro area, one of the major initiatives into operating Omaha Restaurant Week is to bring awareness and support to the needs of the homeless and those in need across the Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa community area.
In which one of the most known facts about this event is how of all the money produced from this event, 5% of the funds are donated to the food bank of the heartland to further assistance to disadvantage families.
