After coming off a rough season last year, the UNO women’s basketball team is ready to turn the narrative around. With seven years under the leadership of Brittany Lange, this is the most versitile group of girls she’s ever seen.
Inside threats like Mariah Murdy and Elena Pilakouta, slashers like Sophie Johnston and Claire Killian and shooters in Emily Petersen and Akili Felici gives the Mavericks all around answers for any opponent.
Returning for Omaha is junior Claire Killian. She has been a part of the team for three years now, however, she is not the oldest member. After seeing a new team each year, Killian is finally confident in the physical and mental aspect of the group.
The UNO Women’s Basketball team kicks off their season Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Baxter Arena at 7 p.m. followed by another game versus inner-city rival Creighton on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
