Richard and Laurine Kimmel started this organization in 1925. Their mission was to care for and share the land’s wealth with family, friends and neighbors. Today, visitors of all ages continue to create unique, fun and memorable experiences here.
Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard is all about an educational and fun experience for the entire family. There are a lot of activities to do, such as hayrack rides, U-Pick Barn and the Pollinator playground for children to play on.
Last year caused the Kimmels a lot of hardships due to the pandemic restrictions. Thankfully, this year guests are allowed to experience more without having to social distance and wear masks.
Jennie Tachovsky, the general manager, said there are several items guests can typically take home from the store.
“We do have apple cider that we make here on site with our apples. We have our apple cider donuts that are also made fresh, and we also have caramel apple oatmeal cookies, which are a popular treat,” said Tachovsky.
A guest at Kimmel said some of her favorite seasonal activities take place at the orchard and vineyard.
“We really like trying the different wine, as well as picking apples,” said the guest.
The Kimmel Orchard Educational Foundation recently took over when Richard and Laurine Kimmel passed away. They send a board of directors weekly to make sure everything is running properly.
The weekly hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. until December 23.
