OMAHA, Neb.– On March 19, the annual Concordia Children’s Business Fair was held at Concordia Senior High.
The Omaha community came out to support and learn more from these children’s businesses
Over 100 vendors participated in the event. Products ranged from toys, baked goods, cosmetics, and more.
Young entrepreneurs at the event learned skills to improve their business and gained experience. The turnout had hundreds of customers looking to purchase their products.
Ignite Director and a teacher at Concordia Academy, Kayla Marty said how impactful the event is on these young sellers. “This is designed to inspire kids and to be entrepreneurs in the future too, we need people who are willing to take risks, failure is just part of the process,” she said.
Head of Mercy Meringues, Mercy Wyatt learned from her customer’s favorite products to increase future sales. “So, I learned what kinds of flavors people like more than others which will be very helpful for when I plan for next time,” she said.
Along with cash payments, many of these vendors also took Venmo payments. Giving customers more ways to purchase their products.
Experience ranged differently through the sellers as some, this was their first-ever business event they attended to. For others, this was the fourth or fifth.
Marty also mentions that no matter what every kid took or learned something from the event. Head of Sew Cute, Korina Crowder shares what she learned from the event. “Well, it’s going to help me understand business better and pricing and that type of thing,” she said.
Concordia will have its fifth annual Children’s Business fair around the same time next year.
