Omaha Dog Bar: A Social Place for Adults and Dogs

By Grace Huffstetler, OMAHA, Neb. – Located just off of 14th street in Little Bohemia, Omaha Dog Bar is a unique establishment. It’s a popular adult bar and eatery with a large outdoor area for dogs – and adults – to socialize.

It first opened in February 2021, making it Nebraska’s first dog-focused bar. They have a variety of cocktails, mocktails and other drinks as well as a full food menu. Brittany Perry, one of the barktenders, has been working at Omaha Dog Bar since its early days.

“We come up with new recipes every season, so we have summer drinks,” she says, “fall drinks, spring drinks, winter drinks, you know just like the seasons.”

Omaha Dog Bar offers a full daycare throughout the week, with drop-offs at 7:30-8 in the morning, and pick-ups in the afternoon.

“They play fetch, they play water games when it’s not cold outside, of course.” Perry says. “And they take a little nap at lunchtime, just so everyone is not overstimulated.”

Roughly 75% of Omaha Dog Bar’s customers are regulars. They take up on the annual or monthly memberships, as well as the daycare, so the employees often see a lot of the same dogs.

“Watching puppies grow up, watching families change,” Perry says, “they’ll have a puppy, then they’ll grow up and have another puppy, that’s definitely my favorite part.”
