Obtaining One Piece product has been a challenge for the Omaha area according to its local players. Especially when trying to find product being sold at Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Your best chance to find product at MSRP is on the day of a new set release when stores stock there shelves with the fresh product. However, you may have to show up early as lines begin forming nearly 2 hours before the shelves are stock, local store cashier says. When asked about how challenging obtaining product has been, Nebraska One Piece player Shawn Morales says, “I am rarely, rarely able to get anything from here. You kinda have to show up and wait for them. It’s not really my style.”

The state of buying One Piece cards is continuing to reach new levels of absurdity. With the limited availability of product, single cards on trading card game retail site, TCGPlayer have seen value increases to nearly 200%. The choice for players is to either get in line at their local super store 3 hours before the shelves are stocked to hopefully be able to purchase 2 packs at the standard $5 each. Or bite the bullet and look to online retailers and spend $15 for the same 2 packs.

As the Omaha One Piece scene was needing a hero, the local game stores in the area were summoned to the call to aid them in their time of need. If you go to your local game store or LGS, chances are you will actually be able to find packs in stock at a limit. Thanks to people like Jake Garrett, The One Piece event organizer for the LGS Dragon’s lair, people can still get packs for MSRP. “We typically limit it to 6, depending on the set sometimes even 4.” When further asked about the systems that Garrett’s store has in place, he said “We don’t sell full boxes anymore, we used to sell boxes for a day or two. Now those are exclusively reserved for players.”
