Ariana Grande said “thank u, next” to Omaha and is on her way to the California music festival Coachella. Grande was supposed to perform in Omaha April 18th and did not reschedule a makeup date for canceling the concert.

The Sweetener tour was supposed to take place at CHI Health Center in downtown Omaha. The tour would have brought in a lot business and tourism to Omaha.

Grande and her two new albums have been at the top of the charts for weeks. She has just recently won her first Grammy. The tour stop in Omaha would have brought in tourism from around the Midwest because the next nearest stop for the tour is in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

“I was supposed to go for my birthday with my friends,” said Abbey Potter. “I am really upset she isn’t coming.”

Potter is one of many Omaha fans disappointed, but it affects more than just Grandes fanbase.

“The hotels and restaurants in the area will lose a lot of money,” said Finance major Connor Ketcham. “Omaha needs a certain number of events they need to have each year at the CHI Center.”

The only other tour spot canceled was in North Carolina. Fans will just have to wait to see if Grande reschedules.
