The 90th annual Tangier Shrine Circus returned to the Mid-American Center in Council Bluffs over the weekend.

This year’s events featured new acts as well as audience favorites. The lineup included The Chicago Boyz and quick-change artists, a crisscross flying trapeze act, the motorcycle “Globe of Death,” plus the Tangier Shrine Circus clowns and Keystone Kops. The show also featured exotic animals and comedic routines from the Tangier Circus Clowns.

The Tangier Shrine Circus was filled with thrills, chills, laughter and plenty of amazing moments in a three-ring show. Animal lovers got to enjoy extraordinary animal performances, including cavorting canine capers and majestic elephants.

The circus “Fun Fair”, held one hour prior to show time, offered a chance for guests of all ages to meet some of the starts of the circus and even get the chance to ride a few of the animals. Elephant, camel and pony rides, a variety of games, carnival rides, bouncy houses and a petting zoo for all to enjoy.

The Tangier Shrine Circus is produced by the James Cristy Cole Circus. Circus proceeds are for the benefit of the Tangier Shrine in Omaha, Nebraska. Proceeds from the circus go to fund the Shriners’ many programs, including helping sick children.
