John Quiñones Speaks At UNO

John Quiñones has been the host of ABC’s “What Would You Do?” for all 15 seasons, as well as a contributor to other ABC News programs.

Quiñones was on Univerisity of Nebraska at Omaha’s campus to educate students about what to do if you find yourself in compromising situations, and what leads people to step up – or step back. He also talked about how to prepare yourself and how to know what is ethical in an unexpected situation.

The event was hosted by UNO’s Schumacher Ethics program and the College of Business Administration.

Quiñones wanted those in attendance to remember one thing from his presentation.

“I hope they are inspired, and motivated by my story, which is about overcoming all kinds of odds. I didn’t speak any English growing up until the first grade,” Quiñones said. “If I can make my dream come true of becoming a TV reporter, than so can you. That’s my message.”

During his 35-year career, Quiñones has provided news reports for a variety of news programs and platforms as well as served as the anchor of “Primetime.” He has accomplished many things over his career, including being the first to get an interview with a Chilean mining survivor, and he was the first person to speak with singer Marc Anthony about his split and divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
