OMAHA – Halloween is just around the corner, and Omaha residents are putting forth the effort to make the holiday COVID-19 friendly with their decorations. This is considered a lower-risk activity by the CDC.
Drive-by yard displays have been a great family activity, and helps with the pandemic and is great for young and old alike.
Omaha News alum, Anthony Pontiero, went with a Jurassic Park theme and tells us kids will get a scare out of it.
“There will be a lot more social distancing, you know maybe one family up to a door at a time. If they’re wearing masks, I don’t think kids will have any problems going trick-or-treating.”
Trick-or-treating may be on standby this year due to social-distancing but that doesn’t stop children and little ones from dressing up and having fun.
Ashley Weber has three elementary-aged children who are always thrilled when Halloween begins and love dressing up.
“We got some fall things over here that will stay up until after Thanksgiving because none of this is bats and creepy stuff like that.”
“Saying trick-or-treat, and my favorite part of the pumpkin patch was the white slide and the haunted houses.”
Despite some difficulties, people across the country are doing what they can to celebrate the spirit of Halloween.
