Back to the grind for UNO students after midterms came and went

Exams, projects and assignments is what kept students up at night during the second week in March.

Midterm week was March 8-12 and had plenty of students stressing out about their classes.

Midterm stress is very common this time of year said UNO Assistant Professor Councilor Adams, Ph.D.

“Stress is biological system letting us know that something important is coming up,” he said.

Adams also mentioned the firsts things to go when we are stress is our eating, sleeping and exercising habits. Adams recommended students to keep this in a regular schedule.

With most classes continuing to be held online, it caused a bit more pressure for one student.

“It’s been a lot more stressful feeling disconnected from teachers and from the school everything that I’m learning I kind of have to do on my own,” said UNO junior Jessie Mueller.

MBA candidate Zac Jones mentioned that the classes online seem to be easier.

“Stress is still their due to a number of project and assignments due on midterm week,” he said.

Jones said when it comes to de-stressing, he likes to go to his parents’ house and play with his dogs or simply play video games.

“This week is physically and mentally exhausting,” he said.

Jones said, once all projects and exams are over, he already made plans to sleep and catch up with buddies.

A final tip from A Adams was that students keep in mind to breathe and relax and look at the bigger scheme of things, since this will help students in the long run.
