PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. — Fungoes Training is expanding its athletic development offerings with a new golf facility, building on the success of its baseball and softball programs in the Omaha metropolitan area.

Since opening in August 2025, the Plattsmouth-based training facility has provided athletes with group instruction, individual training sessions with experienced trainers and advanced technology. Its Fungoes Academy serves approximately 240 players and continues to grow.

Now, the business is extending its focus beyond baseball and softball to meet demand for golf training. The expansion includes golf simulators, membership-based access to select hitting bays and 24-hour entry through a key fob system connected to the company’s app.

Fungoes owner and CEO Brian Strawn said the membership model will allow customers to practice independently on their own schedules.

“We’ll be membership-driven on a few of those [hitting] bays, so you can come in and hit on your own at your own time,” Strawn said.

The facility’s round-the-clock access is intended to distinguish it from other golf training options in the Bellevue-Plattsmouth area. The expansion also will feature a corporate-friendly bay for businesses and a full-time private instructor.

Chief Growth Officer Evan Porter said the company has followed a model based on the famous baseball saying, “If you build it, they will come.” He said the approach has helped the baseball and softball academy grow, and the company expects similar results with golf.

The expansion has already attracted attention from parents, Strawn said. Some have contacted the company as construction on the golf facility progressed, anticipating more visits and spending on their children’s athletic development.

Fungoes plans to continue growing its youth sports offerings, with company leaders pointing to the existing training model and staff as key parts of its future.

Porter said the company expects the golf facility to help it serve the community in a new way while maintaining its focus on athletic development.

During operating hours, Fungoes’ baseball and softball training facility is always packed, and the company looks to have a similar turnout at its new golf facility

The expansion marks another step in Fungoes’ effort to establish itself as a training destination for athletes and families across the Omaha metro area.
