A Nebraska family is giving back to Make-A-Wish Nebraska, an organization that helped them during a difficult time.

James Gallant received a wish through Make-A-Wish Nebraska when he was younger and underwent three open-heart surgeries. His mother, Jessica Gallant, said the experience was a bright spot for their family during a challenging time.

The Gallant family recently attended an event supporting the organization, where they handed out gifts to participants and showed their appreciation for others who came out to support the cause.

Linda Hogrefe, vice president of Make-A-Wish Nebraska, said families sometimes return years later to share the lasting impact their wishes have had on their lives.
