Diaper drive that impacts families all across Omaha

The Channel 94.1 Diaper Drive is currently in it’s 17th year and looks to continue to make an impact on the community.

Amy Harvey of Lydia House Open Door Mission said “the diaper drive is a big deal for people that live with us at the Lydia House, so we’ll supply all the diapers for the year for all the kids that live with us and then the overflow will come to the community, so parents get the chance to get a package of diapers once a month for each child in diapers and it just saves money, which means the money saved can used to pay a bill, put gas in the car, food on the table, whatever that families biggest need would be.”

The diaper drive has impacted families all across the Omaha area and the donations they have received from local businesses and local families have made the difference.

Amy Harvey said “I know last year we got over a million diapers from the diaper drive and we’d hope that would be up a little but this year, it seems to be each year building a little bit more, so I would I guess it would be over a million or 1.2 million diapers this year.”

If anyone has any interest in donating for the diaper drive, they can donate on December 13th or December 14th by dropping off all donations at the Linden Market Hy-Vee or a few other places around the Omaha area.
