OMAHA, Neb. – The global 3D printing market size was valued at 13.78 billion in 2020 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 21 percent from 2021 to 2028. An Omaha woman decided to start her own 3D printing business.

3D World Printing, LLC. is a family business started by a local woman and her family which opened in Jan. 2022.

When Ashley Hall and her family realized that they wanted to create personal customizations for people, they decided to start a business. They looked for options that could aid them with this when they discovered 3D printing. They spent four weeks doing research before deciding to purchase the printers.

They started this business as a way of income and to fuel their creativity. Ashley said getting the business started was nerve-wracking because there were lots of factors that went into it.

Just putting yourself out there and putting what you’re doing out there and saying hey this is what I’m offering, is it good enough that can be scary and intimidating,” she said.

3D printing is the process of making an object out of some material, often plastic. While 2D printing is the process of putting an image on paper. There are so many things that can be made using a 3D printer from helpful everyday items to car parts to even houses.

Hall said their business will not only use 3D printing but will use a laser engraver and cricket to create their products.

“That’s kind of what our business is going to be, all sorts of different printing depending on what somebody wants,” she said.

Hall and her family have always wanted to start a business and she said it was a joy to be able to share this experience with her four kids.

“We get to show them that a little hard work can go a long way and that if you work hard, you can do things and get somewhere,” she said. “You don’t always have to sit there, but if you want to make something about your life you have to put in the work, and it will be interesting and fun to show them that.”

Hall and her family want to grow their business, to a point where they have continuous accounts of customization for people.

“But eventually having something that is a 3D printing business. That’s kind of what is our end goal is to have a big 3D printing company,” she said.
