The Board Games market is projected to double in size, reaching $30 billion in value. Spielbound Board Game Café seeks to provide a safe social space for players to access games with friends.
Spielbound offers a large catalogue of games, recently surpassing three thousand available to play with one thousand offered for purchase.
CEO and Co-Founder Kaleb Michaud is an avid collector of board games, sharing his passion both at the café and Nuke-Con where a booth offered the chance to play games with the staff. “He loves playing games. If you ever meet him, he knows everything about every game you’ll ever ask” says Ali Thariani, general manager for Spielbound Café.
Alcoholic and caffeinated drinks are offered on the menu during games. The space is curated for groups looking for convenience. “Getting five or six people in your house, you know gotta clean your house” says Travis, an Omaha Resident.
Demo nights are offered for players to get connected though events. They are offered for players to connect and form communities throughout Omaha. There are currently no plans to open secondary locations. Spielbound is located at 3229 Harney St, in downtown Omaha.
